This course provides discussion of U.S. federal and state tax policy, and tax policies of developing and developed countries. Topics include efficiency, equity and fairness of tax systems, tax policy and government budgets, macroeconomic and social impacts of tax policy. This course will cover specific direct and indirect taxes, such as property taxes, transfer taxes, consumption taxes, and international taxes.
