BIO 415 - Vertebrate Histology |
An introduction to the cytology and morphology of vertebrate cells and tissues, including examination of the four major histological tissues: epithelium, connective tissue, muscle, and nerve. Other topics include the techniques and instrumentation of light microscopy and selected methods of sectioning, fixation, and staining of tissues. Student project required. Three lecture and three laboratory hours each week.
