All students are expected to attend and participate in person at the assigned day/time. (F2F) Prerequisite or Corequisite: FST 201 Video production is both an art and a craft, requiring a blend of creativity and technical skill. To achieve artistic goals—effectively telling a story, constructing a striking image, or establishing a unique mood—one must have the skills of a maker. This course focuses on developing the fundamental skills essential for crafting media art, especially within the realm of audiovisual works. We will delve into narrative video production as a key method to hone these skills. Throughout the course, students will engage in the entire filmmaking process, from the initial concept in pre-production to the final edits in post-production. They will learn the intricacies of scriptwriting, cinematography, sound production, and editing to effectively communicate their own narratives. This comprehensive approach ensures that by the end of this course, students will be fully equipped to realize their own projects, armed with both the technical proficiency and creative insight needed to bring their visions to life.
