Study of the aesthetic, social, and political dimensions of Baroque and Rococo art from its origins in Europe through its diffusion into the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Focus on visual and material culture characterized by the expanding trade networks, colonization, technological innovations, and religious reform of the global Baroque period.
