Advanced study of the architecture of computer systems. Common processor organizations, hardwired and micro-programmed control, input/output subsystem; bus control; programmed I/O; DMA and interrupts; memory subsystem; interleaved, cache and associative memory; cache design; instruction pipelines, arithmetic pipelines, and their scheduling, RISC and CISC architectures, common multiprocessor architectures.
