GLY 311 - Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology
Theories of genesis of the major igneous and metamorphic rocks in the light of chemistry, mineralogy, structure and texture, field associations, and experimental data. Relationship between igneous and metamorphic processes and crust-mantle tectonic activity. Required field trips. Three lecture and three laboratory hours each week.
